Visit to the Kahna National Park

Hello friends! Just wanted to share my recent experience with you all....
I visited the Kanha national park & came back just today. I had gone there along with many girls & boys from our shibir. I had never been to Madhya Pradesh before, so it was a completely new experience. We saw some beautiful birds & animals in the national park. Sadly, our gypsy could only spot a Tiger cub( a royal Bengal tiger cub!!) & we could not see the tigress that the other two gypsies spotted. I felt disheartened at first , but then just accepted that luck wasn't on our side. I contended  myself by looking at birds & other animals rather than cursing my luck & pondering on the same thing the whole day. I clicked lots of photos & it somewhat helped to lighten my mood. It felt good to be in the presence of nature , away from the litter of our concrete jungle.
We also went to Dhua-dhar waterfalls (on the Narmada) & I was amazed by the sheer force with which the waterfall fell into the river. It caused the spray to rise high up where it drizzled on us as we stood at the railing.
It is true that one finds peace while in nature's presence.( no wonder most rushi- munis  found salvation in the forests!!!)
I'd like to specially thank Sunita maushi and Arti maushi for their company as they were the only elders accompanying us. They did not overdo their 'elder's' responsibility yet kept us disciplined the whole time.
All in all, the trip was very informative & we all had fun & I'm sure nobody will be forgetting this trip in a hurry!!!!

Long live Pitta - Another story

I wanted to share my experience since long however on reading the Pitta experience and Sudhanshu being the common link it was all the more imperative to share.
Frankly nature has been existing since ages and its calls as well, however friends like Nulkar family and mentors like Lata aaji have helped us get closer to it.
One such occasion experienced by me sometime ago. Driving back post my morning jog, suddenly a Kite (bird) appeared from nowhere in front of my vehicle. In a split second the moment he appeared, it dived straigth under the vehicle bonnet. Though at approx.30 kms speed, i braked hard enough to stop in the next 8 - 10 feet. By that time, he had under went my vehicle belly and lay flat on the road. Fearing the worst, I halted to ensure the vehicles from behind do not overrun it. I got off and saw a another kite swooping down and nudging it to fly. That I guess helped it to shake up and turn over to its normal sitting position. Yet it lay still without moving from the spot. At least with this, I could feel my heart beating again. I then carefully shifted it to the side of the road to clear the traffic. Immediately, the first recall was Sudhanshu, he helped me with address of the nearest Veternary Hospital and got it admitted there.
I was relieved and satisfied with a little lesser burden of guilt in my mind of being the reason to cause an injury to a bird.
Later, I started analysing the cause of the sudden sweep of this bird in front of my vehicle. I observed that many of these birds were perfomring similar swooping acts and were actually picking big twigs / small sticks for building their nests.
At home we recollected two earlier instances when Sudhanshu had been the connect to save an Owl and a Pond Heron we had found near our residence. These kind of sharing like Pitta episode inspires us get into these acts. For future in case of any animal help, the contact details of these rescue homes / hospital are given below:

common wanderer

zebra blue

The vacations kept me on my toes and kept me busy which in a way reduced the hours of boredom. Also this vacation was the most productive one as  my photography was at its peak, and this allowed me to capture lot of new species and in my knowledge about butterflies. Seeing a snake slither away  from right in front of you is not a terrifying experience and this fulfilled my wish to see a snake in wild . Given a lot of time I got to visit many places and enjoy myself over there.

Unique photo of Origami Exhibition

|| shree Gurawe Namah ||

Thank u Harsha and Sarwesh, for excellent photos of Origami Exhibition. I, too, am sharing a unique photo.

Sudhanshu kaka (member of Origami Mitra), was given the  charge of ‘Action Origami’ desk. He was very happy (and thankful) because he knew that a lot of children would visit this stall.
So, all four days were full of joy for him, because thousands of children visited this stall; he enjoyed performing the actions of the models – tumbling toy, drinking bird, pecking bird, croaking frog, trumpeting elephant, fireworks… - for the children and give them gifts. Their eyes sparkled with joy and amazement, which was truly rewarding for him.

Lot of shibir families visited the exhibition. Lata aaji-Anilaajoba visited twice. And I am sharing a unique photo, published in Prahar (Marathi Daily), dated 10th Dec., Monday.

    Hello everybody,
This is one of my extra curricular  activities in college. There is a technical society in my college(V.J.T.I.), called TECHNOVANZA. This society has a Rubik cube association, of which i am a member. On Wednesday 12/12/12 this society organised a mall event in Phoenix Mills, Lower Parel. The Rubik cube team was asked to create face view of business tycoon Ratan Tata, only using Rubik cubes!!!
there were 8 people including me in the team to do the task. We used 1500 3x3 cubes to get the job done in 5 and a half hours. It was a great learning experience for me, and my first ever cube art!!! It was great fun solving cubes and getting each cube done to get the big picture. We finalized Ratan Tata because he is retiring later this month. Here are some of the photos of the event,

Generosity of our class

It was early December. School trip was scheduled on 15th. Most of the students in our class paid fee for the trip. But some 4-5 poor students couldn’t. They were unhappy about it. Me and some of my friends noticed that. We told our class-teacher that we will contribute for them. Our class-teacher told all the students to bring 5 rupees each, so that we will collect 250 Rs. So, one of our friends can come. But I had an idea. I know, most of us carry some money with us as we are that grown-up. Thus I asked the class, ``Can we contribute just now?’’ my friends said, ``of course, we can.’’ Then I made an envelope from my note-book page and stood on the platform. I asked the students to keep their money in it. Most of the students gathered hurriedly. Each one kept some amount- 20, 30, 50 Rs. In 5 minutes, we could have 250 Rs, enough for one student’s trip fee. We were happy. I gave that amount to the class-teacher. She was happy too. She felt proud of our class.
Next day, we brought few more Rs with us. Again we had 250 Rs. So we paid for one more student.
Now 50 students from our class are coming for the trip. There are few more, who are not coming, but because of personal reasons.
We all, including our class-teacher are happy that all poor students can come to the trip now.
