Charles Correa's Bharat Bhavan

Hi everyone,
We are in Bhopal super excited with the magnificient display of art and culture at various galleries. One such grand gallery being Bharat Bhavan,  designed by Charles Correa. The meaning of creation of 'space' as was discussed in teenagers shibir was very clear. You just enter into a space, move around from any where to anywhere with no charted routes. Later on you realise you were moving from one gallery to the other viewing exhibits of eminent artists like Prabhakar Kolte, Prabhakar Barve, Bendre etc, to the budding artists as also the grand colorful and cheerful paintings by the Gond tribals.
In between are  cute spaces like stairs and
slopes where you can just sit and
contemplate. The best use of natural elements like the lake view, open to sky areas make the whole experience a serene one.
Grateful once again to Lata Aji for helping us broaden our vistas and thanks to Anita Punjabi and Amit Phansalkar for their efforts to showcase Charles Correa.

  3. Actually, the opportunity to present Charles Correa to the kids gave me a much better insight into his works and his persona. There is a paradigm shift between when one reads/learns for one self and when it is required to be done for a audience. More challenging when the audience is Anandmeva Shibir teen group. Thanks. Amit
