You all may know by now that me and Manava are in Rotarac club, the younger version of Rotary club. Those who dont , Rotarac is like a NGO which helps people. There are 2 experiences which I would like to share.
1.I, Manava and few other rotarac members go to Paranjape
Vidyalaya(A school in Vile Parle) to teach students of 5th and 6th
std who are weak in studies,English. It is fun to teach as we study
non academical English i.e. English speaking, introducing in
English, etc. It feels great when we are teaching students and
being called as dada and tai by them. Some of them are shy and
are hesitant to answer questions while some try hard to answer all
questions.
2. After Anant Chaturthi we had gone to beach clean up. It was a very different experience as we saw broken hands, legs and heads of ganesha idols.I must admit many NGOs were present there to work and Times of India and BMC together had arranged the 'beach cleanup drive' very well. While some had came there just for time pass ,there were many who worked a lot in this program.I had fun doing the cleaning and must say that the participation in such programs must increase.
By the way I must apologise for not contributing for such a
long in the blog .It is disappointing to see no teenagers contributing in the blog ,hope it changes soon.
