Saloni and Simran needed the emotional warmth more than most children in our vicinity. Their mother Mrs Sandhya Mangle has a job which involves days to weeks of travel often abroad. Shekhar manages his stressful business and day to day affairs of their family and education alone during these periods. This was pointed out to us by Lata aaji. But we have not risen up to the situation and failed to offer adequate support
Aaradhya Naik was about 11 years of age when the family returned back to India from the Middle East. Aaradhya had to constantly face the problem of adjusting to new set of peer groups, teachers and social contacts at school and home. ( Frequent change of schools due to transfer of Anand's job locations ). We have been in touch since then. But much more ought to have been done on our part so that he would have felt at home ,accepted.
One of the lapses in our social parenting was the inadvertent exclusion of Om Lad from the group of children who spent a couple of days at our home about 5 years ago.
Om Vaknally lost his dear ones in a short time in quick successions. We could only relate to the sorrow n grief of Swarupa and Mahesh but were unable to figure out the magnitude of mental agony and trauma which was borne by little Om.
We failed to realize that Karan Thakur needs attention of his Anandmewa peers and parents. We have not made any contribution to this.
Above all we could not initiate, organize, arrange or plan activities or programmes for shibirites. Such plans are urgently needed for our self growth and of all parents so that the nurturance given to all of us by Lata aaji is further consolidated.

ReplyDeleteYou and your Family including Aaji & Aajoba have always supported us when we were staying in the same building.Simran still remember those good days which she has spent by playing with Soham & Mohit.During flood situation in 2004, you were also in trouble but that time also you have supported & given us shelter & everything (including Archana & Anand ,Swarupa& Mahesh & others in the shibir).That time your clinic & other things(Brand New Honda City Car) were also drewn in that flood but inspite of this sorrow both of you & Aaji were taking care of our food.Aaji was giving special attaention to Shekhar's mother which we can never forget.Whatever was possible from your side you have always done. So please do not fill guilty.When Suchitra told Simran in yesterday's shibir(Sunday, 20 May,2012)to come home, Simran immediately told me that I want to go their home & learn new things from Soham.She always misses those childhood days & Maggi made by jayant Dada.
