KHAU
Even though this incident happened many years ago, I feel like that it has occurred recently.
Lataaji had told us ( parents) to plan khau (snacks) for next program. Some mothers took initiative and it was decided that five of us (including me) will be preparing Idli and one mother will be making Chatni. We all were happy with our planning (As usual!)
Only after serving khau to children, we realized our mistake. Every child was looking at neighbour’s plate. Chatni was only uniform among all plates of children and idli of every plate was of different sizes, different colour, different texture , some were prepared from homely prepared peeth ( batter) whereas some were from readymade peeth (batter), some were hot and some were cold and needless to say every plate was tasting different.
We all realized that our over enthusiasm, incorrect planning and laziness (!) take away small but precious pleasures of our children and we have to be more careful of the same in future.
P.S.- We did not realise the mistake even after serving and we realised the same after it has been brought up to our notice by Lataaji.
thanks for a very important sharing. though it looks a small incident, there is lots of learning.
