Letty's Globe - My perception / views
A Little golden hair girl playing with globe in the greatest kingdom called Britain. The poem emphasizes on the kingdoms that she is handling with soft hands across globe. As Brit’s ruled half the world when this poem was written by the poet, assumes a superlative position for Britain. Letty is lovingly little imperialist, but only in gloating, in the eyes of a poet who was on the winning but dominating side of the world, see the mother land which glows the Europe. Her golden hair which glows the Europe is an analogy.
Alternatively I find the basic instinct of any person who loves his mother land and Letty’s kiss represents that love for mother land is a natural phenomenon. We automatically get connected with the country, the city and ultimately the HOME. Home is a place where we all feel safe and relaxed. This is a place where one can even handle kingdoms.
