This is my experience of last may vacation 2011:
One night after dinner as we were taking a night walk, one person from our neighbouring society came and informed us about the shoot which was to be held the next day in our society ground. One by one everyone in our society acknowledged it. The next day at about 10a.m.everyone in our society got dressed up in beautiful sarees, dresses, make overs and what not! Everyone in the society was filled with enthusiasm, however I wasn't that excited. The channel bus arrived an hour after, they explained the participants about the game and gave them instructions and at last the shooting started...There was a great chaos in front of our house.People had gathered in large numbers to see the shoot. At the beginning of the game show,as I mentioned before people were over filled with enthusiasm and excitement, but as the show came to its conclusion, their so called excitement was almost flushed off. This was because many retakes, anchor's make up man was running behind him to clean every peck of dust every now and then...This reality show was shown on television only for half an hour, but it nearly took our whole Sunday. It was a complete waste of time for all-the viewers and the participants.
But Satyameva Jayate is an exception to this.Due to this very reason I and may be many more youngsters came to know about the problems before our country.I wasn't aware about the life-taking dowry system, girl infanticide, malpractices in medical field, etc. And even if we knew about such factors causing obstacles in our nation's progress, we could do nothing except discussing their seriousness. But through this programme , apart from the problems we also come to know about the people who are taking an initiative in solving and trying to find solutions to it.Such NGOs and many other people are setting excellent examples before Young India and prompting us to be proud of our country...But still I have a question mark in my mind-'Will Satyameva Jayate be able to make any change in our society?

Shivani, you have written beautifully! Even I share the same question of whether this reality show will really make a change in the society.I think we might find the answer soon enough.
